Shielded terminal wire consists of ordinary insulated conductors in a standard conductive layer with a special protective shield. This shielding differentiates these cables from common unshielded variants, the shielding is wrapped around an insulated conductor, usually developed from braided copper and similar metal strands, helical copper tape, conductive polymers, etc. .
Shielded cables reduce and isolate the transmission of data or power from the high electrical power "electrical noise" or ambient electromagnetic interference (EMI) present in industrial, engineering or manufacturing environments where data and power transmission is subject to electronic interference. In some industries, shielded terminal wires are very useful.
The shielding benefit of shielded cables against capacitive and inductive electromagnetic coupling depends to a large extent on the joint quality of the shield connection. Shielded terminals are not intended to be used as wire pull resistance devices. At present, domestic shielded terminal blocks are mainly used in electrical, electronic and instrumentation industries. Its shielding layer consists of two mutually insulated braided layers, the outer layer is grounded on both sides, and the inner layer is grounded on one side. In this way, potential compensation current and inductive coupling interference can be led to ground through the outer shield, and capacitive coupling interference can be led to ground through the inner shield.
